Life before Little Atom?
A combination of producing, managing, programming and curating events for the London Film Festival, British Library, Wellcome Collection, British Animation Awards, emap, Twentieth Century Fox, Screen Deva Film Festival, Tribeca Film Festival and the Australian government!
Why event management?
For me it’s all about the client / audience experience. If I can surprise, delight and inspire people with an event I’ve delivered and they go home smiling then I’ve done my job. It also helps that I love to be busy, crave order and am a complete perfectionist!
First event ever produced?
Apart from a garden production of the Sound of Music when I was 6 or 7, the first event I ever managed was a breakfast roundtable for executive search consultants in New York.
I conceptualised and programmed an event at the British Library to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Jack Kerouac’s On The Road – an evening of film, music and conversation with composer David Amram (a great friend who we flew over especially for the occasion), Carolyn Cassady, writer Steve Turner and Mike McShane. I’d moved onto another contract by the time the event took place so was even able to attend as a special guest and watch it in complete comfort!
I’ve been to some really great Rooftop film events in Brooklyn and Melbourne and would love to get my hands on a suitable rooftop (and suitable weather) to create a wonderful combination of music, film, art, cocktails and delicious food as the sun sets.

Favourite element on the periodic table?
Ne (Neon). Gotta love a neon sign! Upon discovery of Neon Morris Travers said “the blaze of crimson light from the tube told its own story and was a sight to dwell upon and never forget.” Plus stable forms of neon are produced in stars…aww.
